As of today I have a new love for Kevin Tong’s art. Among an endless supply of gig posters on his site I found this, his own interpretation of the movie “Rushmore." This movie is dear to me for all the reasons Kong has brought into this piece. Max Fischer tries to cling to the past, but he eventually learns to embrace “Sic Transit Gloria." (translation: Glory Fades) No matter how great something is, you will have to move on. This doesn’t mean those past achievements will disappear forever, they will stay a part of us forever. Sometimes we need to look back on all that we have done to realize how great we are.
