Today was my first day of senior year. Tons of emotions have rushed in with it leaving me with a very mixed feeling. I am excited to be a senior, but scared and nervous of what lies ahead. I don’t like unknown and at the moment my life after high school is very unknown. As well as it being my last first day of high school, it was my younger sister, Morgan’s, first day of high school. My sweet freshman kid sister is going through as much change as I am. I remember when I was a freshman. I was regularly nervous and scared I would get lost or walk into the wrong class. I was able to “man up" and break through that change, and that is what I will have to do with this one. Change is something everyone goes through, whether it for better or for worse. We have all faced it before and just as I have done in the past, this year (as well as next) will be bring huge change, and I just have to enjoy these things while they last.

Time Traveler's Wife
Last night my mom and I went on a little mother daughter date to see “The Time Traveler’s Wife." It is one of our favorite books and we have been waiting a year for the movie to come out. I was really surprised by how much I liked it. There were some things I was dissapointed about, but if I had never read the book and only seen the movie I think I would have really loved it. Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams were not nearly as excentric/forlackofabetterwordfunky as I imagined Claire and Henry (him more so than her). Part of this was because, there were a lot of things that weren’t in the movie that were what formed this character trait (ie. No Violent Femmes concert, no baby punks at the party). The other thing I have to complain about is that Henry’s suicidal ex-girlfriend, Ingrid, is not in the movie. As one of my favorite characters in the book, I thought she really carried the plot along and couldn’t imagine the movie without her. They pulled it off by leaving many major story lines out. Over all, I was very pleased with the movie.

Disney/Warped/Mraz Summer 2009
We spent our first park day at EPCOT. In the living seas we saw two manatees. They were incredible. They were both rescued and one had lost a fin and the other part of its tale, most likely from a boating accident. They were beautiful creatures.
We ate at the Pooh Brunch in the Crystal Palace and it was delicious. I had a chocolate chip Mickey pancake that was to die for. Dad realized that if you make a late reservation you can stick around while they switch from breakfast to lunch. Dad did eat some of both and said that it was definitely worth it.
On Friday, Warped Tour was in Orlando. Though we weren’t going until Sunday in Tampa, we decided we would go ahead and check out the Denny’s Allnighter. It was a lot of fun. I met Mike from Devil Wears Prada and Ben and Nate from Sing it Loud. I had never eaten at a Denny’s before and I was surprised by how much I liked the food. I enjoy a meal where I can have nachos and pancakes.
On Sunday we went to Warped Tour in St. Petersburg. I had never been to Warped before and I had so much fun. I got to watch Hit the Lights, All Time Low, Sing it Loud, Big D and the Kids Table, Down with Webster, Cash Cash, White Tie Affair, and Meg and Dia, among others. I saw Nate from Sing it Loud again and he remembered me! He is a sweet heart. He was so sweet and we had a nice chat about there CD as well as other things. I also had a long conversation with David from Big D and the Kids Table and he was really nice. Their set was probably my favorite. Everyone was dancing and having a great time.

The new store, Tren-D, in Downtown Disney is adorable. I got some cozy Alice in Wonderland PJ’s and a really cute Mickey t-shirt. Definitely worth checking out.
The new Midway Mania is one of my favorite rides at MGM, but we had never waited in the standby line. When we went to the MGM Extra Magic hours it was too late to get a Fast Pass so we decided to go for the forty minute wait (totally worth it). Because we had never waited, we had never seen the Mr. Potatohead animatronic in the stand by line. He was insane. One of the best I’ve seen. He talked to people in line and even pulled his own ear out and went on to put it back in. That alone was worth the wait.
As always, we accompanied Dad to the Disney Vacation Club presentation. This one was about the new Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary and the new benefits they have. What he didn’t tell us was after the meeting there would be a dance party with the characters. It was so much fun. They had desserts and (my favorite) the delicious ice cream novelties. We had a late tour group, thus waiting around for a while. When it got near the end it was practically us and the characters. We had a ball.
We drove straight from Orlando to the Verizon Wireless Ampitheatre in Atlanta. We got there a bit late and missed The Plain White T’s, but we did get to see G. Love and the Special Sauce. They were awesome, but nothing could top Jason Mraz. He sounded amazing. The show was so much fun.

No Doubt Tour Summer 2009
Last night was the No Doubt concert and it was insane. I had an awesome time. I thought Paramore sounded pretty good, considering that some of their songs are kind of pitchy. I was amazed at the number of people that were there primarily to see them. No Doubt did an amazing job. They had the best stage presence and they didn’t seem bored up on stage. They sounded just like a recording. Gwen and Tony had great on stage chemistry, and I have to add that he is much cuter than Gavin Rossdale.
The show was sold out and the crowd was jam packed.
I am madly in love with her wardrobe.
Highlights of Spring Break 2009
If I was on the ball I would have done this a couple weeks ago, but I thought I would go ahead and post it anyway.
The second night we ate at Roy’s were I had delicious Lobster California rolls. (Notice the few cucumber slices I poked out of the sushi with my chop sticks.)

What Happens In Vegas... Tour
Last night I went to see the Cab at the Masquerade. I didn’t have tickets but my dad and I decided to go at the last minute and I was able to get tickets at Publix. I’m so glad we decided to go. We got there pretty late because we were coming from Athens. We saw the last bit of A Rocket to the Moon. I had never heard any of their music and thought they sounded good. They had a nice energy. The Cab came up next and they were awesome. They played a short set, but they only have one full length and an EP (I’m not gonna complain). The highlight of the night was the acoustic version of “Vegas Skies." It was beautiful. Cash was not their, for personal reasons, and the Eye Alaska played bass with them. That was a bit disappointing, but the show was still great. After the show I hung around a bit hoping some of the guys would come out. After a while I realized that Deleon and Marshall were both behind the stage signing stuff. I walked back there and got Marshall to sign my shirt and got a picture with him, but Deleon left before I could get his attention. After waiting to see if he’d come back out, I walked away and saw Bryan walking around. I got a picture/autograph from him and then headed outside to find my dad (who didn’t realize the show was over and thought we’d have at least an hour more…it was over pretty early). When we went outside, Deleon was out there so I was able to get a picture with him then. Overall it was an awesome night. Tons of fun.

Bamboozle Roadshow 2009
I went to the Bamboozle Roadshow last Saturday. They were playing in Atlanta at the Masquerade. I had a great time. I was extremely excited about seeing both the Cab and We the Kings, and neither were a disappointment. The Cab played “Disturbia," and We the Kings played “The Middle" and a bit of “A Milli."
